There was no real pattern that I used - it's all improvised. I was quite pleased, because I've done so few things with knitting and this turned out pretty well. I started it off rather like a toe-up sock, using scrap yarn to crochet a chain and picking up my cast on through the chain back. I made a flap at the top and tied a dyed freshwater pearl to the front for a closure.
Pattern:
Using scrap yarn, crochet a chain a few sts longer than your iPod is wide. With a needle, pick up sts through the back of the chain: I used 16 sts.
Work 4 rows of stockinette. Pick up the 16 sts across the bottom (Needle 2) and remove the scrap yarn.
Foundation row: M1, purl across Needle 1. M1, purl across Needle 2. (34sts)
Working in rounds, knit until height desired.
At beginning of row, purl 1, then purl and bind off next 16 sts, p2together, purl 15, p2tog and turn.
Work in stockinette on remaining 16 sts until flap is desired length. If desired, decrease to a point. Attach a bead or button for closure if desired.
